I imagine a very groovy room with a green velvet sofa for the musicians to chill on when they listen to the magic they’ve all just made.
More framing. Behold, the control room window.
Framing for the studio’s live room (and our event space) has commenced.
We held a private event on Sunday, hosting Ben Arthur’s Song.Writer podcast. Our close friends and supporters were in attendance. Ben asked his old friend Parker Paul to participate, as well as our co-owner Amy Turn Sharp, who read a poem inspired by Parker Paul’s song, “Lemongrass.”
We recorded the audio for the podcast, which will be released in 2020.
Thanks to Columbus Alive for profiling Amy and Keith about Secret Studio.
Our facility currently stands as one empty room. We are required to build out the various rooms: the lobby, gallery, the studio control room, studio live room and studio isolation booth. And yes, we will be opening up the front garage door in the spring.
Secret Studio is an art gallery, a recording studio specializing in music, podcasting and commercial audio, and an event space for creative workshops and events.
We are working towards completion of primary construction at the end of the year, and opening by February 2020. It’s location isn’t secret: 503 West Walnut Street in the Franklinton Arts District.
This blog will document the process of building and opening Secret Studio.
